Anger

It seems that alot of people are really angry.

Why is that, is there really a good reason to be so angry about such random stuff all the time.

I haven’t been able to do something I wanted to. Something happened I didn’t like and I am brooding on it. Somebody said something that I didn’t think was smart. I don’t like somebody. I have the only right opinion.

All of these things seem to be the reasons people are so angry. It strikes me as very odd though as to the extent of the anger that some people have. Why is it that we have to be so incredibly angry about such stupid things.

So you weren’t able to do something you wanted to do. Yea that can be kind of upsetting, but is it any reason to go into a depressive downward spiral which leads into spouting of hate filled speech against others?

So something happened that you didn’t like…..MOVE ON….don’t let something bother you for so long that it makes you into an angry person.

Somebody said something stupid. Whoop-d-freakin-doo, people say dumb things sometimes….YOU say dumb things sometimes, get over it.

You don’t like somebody…..SO STAY AWAY FROM THEM, don’t force yourself to be near them or put up with them if you don’t like them, just give it a little distance and you will find that maybe they don’t annoy you so much anymore. If you don’t like somebody but you still stay near them and fake that you like being around them, then it’s your fault for putting yourself in that situation. It’s good and all to be nice to people, but sometimes you just have to have a little distance in order to keep a little peace….AND SANITY.

So you have the only correct opinion……is that so? Well I think that’s a stupid opinion. By the definition of an opinion you are entitled to think that. I won’t way your opinion is wrong if you treat my opinion the same way. Fact may prove your opinion to be right or wrong, in which case you may be smart or you may be really blind to the truth. Either way you are entitled to your own opinion, no matter how big-headed, selfish, or idiotic that may be.

I just don’t see a reason everybody around me is always in a foul mood, using foul language, and seems so angry. Life is good as long as you are breathing, so if you think your life is so terrible that you can’t find a single bit of joy anywhere in your existence…..seek counseling….seriously.

Sorry for the insane rant today, just feels like I am the only person here at school who isn’t cussing about how stupid something is or how unfair something seems to be. Am I the only sane person here??

Oh, wait a second, maybe they are all sane…..in fact….maybe I am everything but sane.

All the sudden everything seems to make sense.

Oh well, guess insanity is EVERYTHING it’s cracked up to be.

So anyway, I guess my rant can be disregarded….or take it for what it said….up to you. Maybe you are insane like I am and agree with me. If so…..that’s AWESOME! But I digress.

Continuence of Soap in the Mouth

You know, my opinionated post from Monday got me thinking about cussing even more, especially some of the comments I received on the topic.

When it comes to using foul-mouthed “four-letter words” (even though some of them are longer or shorter than that), it seems rather barbaric and stupid to even utter such words. In my opinion, it shows a lack of intellect as well as somewhat of a lack of education to utter such short and over-used words. These words are being used as early as middle school and elementary school, sadly I would know because I believe the 5th grade was the first time I uttered several foul words under peer pressure to do so. Many of these kids are learning these things from pop-culture as well as from their own households or from friends who have learned these words in similar fashions.

So here is the question, should an educated, self-respecting human being ever utter such vile and basic words which have been overused to the point where their original meaning is lost to many people today?

I am once again going to be an advocate for change! Stop using foul language, there are so many more things that can be said, even if it is just a simple euphemism for a terrible word, use it instead of the terrible word. Not only will this prompt you to come up with new words or sayings, but it will broaden your vocabulary and your mother won’t have to chase you down and wash your mouth out with soap.

Wacky Weekly Thought

I walked into a restroom stall here in college the other day and began reading the walls while using the restroom.

I saw a particular piece of “Stall Literature” which brought about a quite interesting string of thought.

I wont’ quote it due to vulgar language used in the question that was written, but the proposed question on the stall side basically read, “Why do so many people take pens with them to the restroom.” Now, in college such a thing is understandable (and something that I do anyway), as most people carry pens in their pockets at all times. But not everything written in the bathroom stalls is written in pen. Sometimes things are written in sharpie, highlighter, or even carved into the walls, floor, or toilet paper dispensers.

I truly don’t think the questions should be about why people carry writing instruments with them into the restroom, but what comes over people to write things in the restroom stalls? Some things written, much like the question I read, are very light-hearted elements of thought, but for the most part this is not what you see inside of restroom stalls. Most of the time you read the most hateful and targeted words. From simple expletives, to offers of “close encounters of the perverted kind”, to gang signs and other instances of targeted hatred against specific persons or groups of people.

Why are people so angry at others in the restroom? and why on earth are homosexuals eliciting themselves in the restroom?

Restrooms are supposed to be places of cleansing for people. Men and women both go there to relieve themselves of their intestinal burdens, and usually I could imagine that the last thing you need during your time of self-help is somebody yelling at you, cursing your name/heritage, putting disturbing images in your head, or warning you about the camera in the vent above your head.

I propose a change!
From now on, if you ever have an urge to write something or carve something into a bathroom stall….make your words something of value…..maybe a famous motivational quote…..or simply words of encouragement.

Examples: “Have A Wonderful Day”, “Jesus Loves You”, “Don’t Quit”, “You Can Do It”

You could also offer them advice on life.

Examples: “Try Deep Breathing”, “Ever thought about trying Yoga?”

I am convinced that if we change the messages that are placed in bathroom stalls to positive things, restrooms will become better places as well as places from which people leave changed……or at least less bloated.
